Notre Dame Smokers
Notre Dame Football Smokers have been a tradition at the Santa Maria Council for over 60 years. Since requested by the late, great Edward (Moose) Kraus in 1943, our council has provided a program on Friday nights before each home Notre Dame football game.
Held at the Sacred Heart Parish Center on the campus of the University of Notre Dame, the smokers feature great food, a great Notre Dame environment, and great speakers. The success of the smokers is directly related to the hard work and dedication of our Council members, and their Ladies. Profits made on these smokers are returned to the council to use for various charitable causes.
In addition, we sell items autographed by Coach Ara Parseghian and donate the profits to the Ara Parseghian Medical Foundation. For more information about the ND Football Smokers, please visit the Notre Dame Smokers website. At that site you will find a wealth of information regarding the history of the smokers, and information germane to upcoming smokers. Our partnership with Notre Dame and Coach Parseghian is something that our council is very proud of.

GO IRISH!!!
2009 ND Leprechaun and cheerleaders charged up the smoker crowd before the Michigan State game.
The success of any event is the direct result of council members and their ladies, and the Friday night ND smokers are no exception. As you can see, camaraderie and fun is also a part of the evening.
